Planning for a new year...

Friends,
There are so many things that come to our minds, when we think about the new year..., and all summarizes in one word:

  • Plan, Planning
Is there something wrong with us?!,
Why, even when we see it coming..., We all know the importance of PREVENTION..., the importance of Planning..., however..., most of the time..., it happens
Hopefully this new year will be a better one...,

  • for each Country,
  • for each Company,
  • For each individual...
Happy Holidays!, and a Happy new year..., to every Human Being..
We ALL deserve to be happy !! :)

The 21st century: The Century of Quality

On his Quality Handbook Juran predicted that “The 20th century will be remembered as the Century of Productivity, whereas the 21st century will come to be known as the Century of Quality”(Juran, 1999)

He was so right about it!
It is coming...,

There is another quote by Harry Truman:
  • There is nothing new in the world except the history you do not know

Since the Pyramids of Egypt, there is evidence of the use of Quality Control tools

It is time for applying it to real life problems, snd make it a habit.

" We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act, but a habit."

Aristotle 384BC-322BC

The Fifth Absolute

The Fifth Absolute: The purpose of quality is to ensure customer success, not customer satisfaction.

Ohhh!!!..., we still need a lot to put into practice..., The Absolute above, was created around 2002 by Philip Crosby Associates (http://www.philipcrosby.com/pca/index.html) and remains and idea to be implemented.
Forget Costumer satisfaction...
Costumer Success is the key!!

How happy are you?

Today I read a post by Richard Bransom (Richard Branson )
about:

What’s the best measurement for success?

(SOURCE: http://www.linkedin.com/today/post/article/20121109141247-204068115-what-s-the-best-measurement-for-success-happiness)

and I want to share it with you.

When working as a Quality Assurance/Quality Manager; when being a Quality Auditor, The measure of success is how happy we are with the work we are doing.

That is the best metric for SUCCESS on everything we do in life.

Don't u think?!

Let’s us focus on what really is important…

Let’s us focus on what really is important…
we, specialist on Quality, have a QUALITY MONTH…, on its third year…
and its support will continue to grow…., from companies to government…, I see a future where everyone is involve in Quality.
I just posted this comment on a friendly debate at the ASQ blog:
http://asq.org/blog/2012/11/world-quality-month-accelerating-quality/#comment-6874
it does not matter how long it will take the world to realize that Quality is free. The world will get there..., People will soon realize that it is cheaper to do it Right, the first time.
There is no other way to go.
Regards,
Roberto
Celebrating World Quality Month in November 2012!

Now in its third year since it started in 2010, I feel that our profession now is recognized as an important step forward. The future depends now, more than ever before of its definition:
- Fit for use/purpose
- Conformity to requirements

and all the other concepts like zero defects, Lean..., six sigma

Cost of Poor Quality

an interesting video of Quality Costs citing examples such as:
  • The 1986 Challenger Explosion. NASA failed to address a quality problem in a critical O-Ring component. 7 astronauts lose their lives.
  • The 2009 Toyota 9 Million Car Recall. Problematic floor mat and defective brakes leading to unintended acceleration. 9 million cars recalled, 52 people lose their lives.
  • The 2010 BP Deepwater Rig Explosion. After much corporate quality failure finger pointing, this was still the greatest environmental distaster of US History. $10 billion cost to BP, 11 people lose their lives - environmental damage inestimable.
Does your company value quality?
